For identifying the correct replacement ultraviolet bulb, the following information is very helpful for us:
- Information on the bulb. Some bulbs with have part numbers or specifications printed on the end of the bulb. This can help identify many important aspects of the bulb. However, many manufacturers will deliberately hide the electrical information of the bulb to make it more difficult to buy replacements from anyone other than the OEM manufacturer.
- Base type. We will need to know the base type of the lamp. It may be two pins on either end, four pins on one end, one large pin on either end, or a special base. In many cases, a photograph of the end of the bulb can help.
- Length of the bulb. The length of the bulb is important so we can find one that matches the length you already have. UV bulb lengths may be measured in inches, although UVC bulbs are often measured in millimeters.
- Bulb wattage. The bulb wattage, combined with the length, helps us identify if the bulb is a standard or high output lamp. The ballasts for standard and high output bulbs are very different, so it is important to be able to determine this information.
